Andy Murray has expressed high praise for emerging British tennis talent Jack Draper, particularly highlighting his remarkable recovery in fitness and the impressive level of his game as the Wimbledon season approaches. Draper, who currently holds the 113th spot in the global rankings due to several injury setbacks, has been actively training at the LTA’s National Tennis Centre. Murray, who is offering guidance in an advisory capacity, noted that the 23-year-old is steadily regaining his fitness after dealing with knee, elbow, and shoulder issues.
Murray commended Draper’s talent and progress, noting that his overall game has exceeded expectations. He described Draper’s tennis as “very strong” and “complete,” emphasizing the young player’s quick learning ability and increasing confidence as he returns to regular training. As Draper sets his sights on making a competitive return ahead of Wimbledon, he is slated to participate in the Eastbourne tournament as part of his comeback strategy, focusing on regaining match rhythm and enhancing his endurance across events.
While Murray is actively supporting Draper’s development, he clarified that his role remains flexible due to family commitments. He stressed that any long-term coaching arrangement would need to accommodate his personal obligations alongside professional responsibilities.
