In an effort to attract travelers during the less busy autumn and winter months, airlines are reducing fares on routes between the UK and Spain. Major carriers including Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air, Vueling, Iberia, Iberia Express, and Air Europa have introduced promotional pricing, with some one-way flights available for as low as £14.99 or €16.
Ryanair, for instance, is offering September and October flights starting at £14.99 for routes such as London to Castellon, Barcelona, and Valencia. For travel in November and December, prices begin at approximately £19.99. Meanwhile, easyJet’s latest promotion features over 780,000 seats at discounted rates, with select routes seeing reductions of up to 20%. Passengers can find fares from £18.99 on flights like Gatwick to Alicante, Bristol to Malaga, and Luton to Barcelona, while some October flights to Palma are available from £15.99.
Wizz Air is expanding its Spanish presence by establishing new bases in Valencia and Madrid this November, adding routes that will heighten competition with Ryanair. Meanwhile, Spanish airlines are also joining the competitive pricing scene. Vueling offers discounts of up to 20% on 110,000 seats, with international fares beginning at €16. Iberia provides domestic flights from €24 and trips to select European destinations from €29, whereas Air Europa’s anniversary sale boasts fares starting at €25.
The primary aim of these discounts is to stimulate demand following the busy summer travel season. However, travelers should note that the lowest fares typically include only a small under-seat bag, with additional costs for seat selection, cabin luggage, and checked bags. Travel experts suggest comparing airline prices on flexible midweek dates, especially during October, November, and January when fares are generally lower than during peak holiday periods.
